Georgetown Loop Historic Mining and Railroad Park

Climb aboard one of Colorado’s famous historic narrow gauge railroads. The Georgetown Loop is truly an engineering marvel that takes you high over the Devil’s Gate Bridge and winds you through a scenic Rocky Mountain pathway. Silver mine tours are available in conjunction with train ride. Located just 45 miles west of Denver on Interstate 70, exit #228 Georgetown or exit #226, Silver Plume.

This historic attraction is a wonderful way for visitors experience and become educated as to how the railroad came into existence in the late 1800’s and how it became a major contribution to the mining industry. A personal narrative is given to passengers on the down-hill segment of the train ride. The train ride itself taken about 1 hour and 10 minutes. If you add on the mine tour, you can add an additional hour to your visit.
